ORGANISATION

Team structure fosters cooperation, knowledge and extension

Students and teachers are organised into four teams. There are two multi-age Year 7 and 8 teams of 100 students each. There is a Year 9 team of 100, and a Year 10 team.
Each team has a number of teachers, one of whom is the team leader. This leader is an experienced teacher who has responsibility for the operation and the outcomes of each team. For most of the week students are taught by a core of 3-4 teachers.

Each team is further divided into advisory groups consisting of between 14-17 students. These advisory groups meet each morning and afternoon. It is during these times that personal learning plans are developed. It is also the advisory teacher's responsibility to ensure that personal learning time is used to meet targets identified in the personal learning plans.

The advisory teacher and the wider team are responsible for the academic, social and emotional needs of individual students. They are the first port of call for any inquiries by parents and are the staff members responsible for communication with home.
